This year, Regional Transport officers have been laying the groundwork for the next Wellington Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP) 2027, developing our insights and evidence base. The reports below set out how our transport network is currently working, where challenges present room for improvement, and what our communities want from the transport system.
This evidence base will guide the development of the RLTP 2027 strategic framework, and help our region identify what we want our transport network to deliver in the next 10-30 years.
As set out in the June 2025 report (PDF 6 MB) to the Wellington Regional Transport Committee, the RLTP 2027 strategic context and the outcomes we want our transport network to achieve will be published for public consultation in mid-2026. The full RLTP will be open for public consultation in mid-2027.
Read the reports below to find out more—you can contact us at gwrt@gw.govt.nz with any questions.
