When you explore beneath the surface of Taputeranga Marine Reserve, you’ll be treated to the magical underworld that has been allowed to flourish. If you’re lucky you might even spot an octopus.

28/1/22: Location change to Island Bay Beach

My Vaccine Pass required and pre-registration may be required.

New snorkelers are encouraged (but you must be able to swim). Wetsuits, snorkels, flippers, experienced guides and safety gear are provided.

You may need to book depending on COVID-19 restrictions so please keep an eye on this page and the Facebook event page for changes. If you click ‘attending’ on the Facebook event, you’ll receive important information and updates, including location changes and postponement due to weather (If the swell is up at Princess Bay, we may move the event to Island Bay).

Please bring a mask to wear out of the water, and a keep cup to enjoy a warm beverage after your swim.

What to bring: Vaccine pass, photo ID, Togs, towel, sunhat, camera, warm clothes, snacks, a mask to wear out of the water and a keep cup to enjoy a warm beverage after your swim.

Please note the minimum age is 8 years, and children below 16 must be accompanied by a snorkelling adult.  Entry to the final snorkel of the day will close at 2pm.
