Join us in celebrating Restoration Week!

This year, we’re hosting a webinar series focusing key areas of te taiao restoration across the Wellington region.

We will cover an overview of the Restoration Week activities and cover the how-tos of the online webinars before hearing from our opening speaker Rāwiri Smith, Environment Manager (Kaiwhakahaere Taiao) for Ngāti Kahungunu Ki Wairarapa. Rāwiri acknowledges the generous mahi of Wellington volunteers and how these cumulative efforts across the region connect to the recent proposed framework Kaipupuri taonga ki te ao Whānui from the Mauri Tūhono ki Te Upoko o Te Ika a Māui working group. This framework offers a united vision to work together in caring for te taiao (the environment). You can read more on the Framework beforehand and come with your thoughts and questions.

See more details on Facebook.

Log in to the webinar.

Te Taiao webinar series includes 6 one-hour sessions run over 6 days. Each day will focus on a separate key area of te taiao restoration across the Wellington region.

Hosted by Nick Tansley, local experts will be sharing updates on various topics including waterways, coastlines, pest animals, pest plants, community successes, and the future of restoration across the region.

Settle in from home with a cuppa and join the kōrero! You’ll also have the chance to go in the draw for some great free giveaways!

This series is brought to you by Wellington City Council and Greater Wellington as part of Restoration Week 2023 – see the full programme of activities.
