Porirua City Council’s Streamside Planting Programme is in its second year of planting to improve the water quality and biodiversity of our streams and harbour. This event will help restore the mauri of Te Awarua-o-Porirua.

Come along to the Community Planting Day at Waihora Park sports field. We are aiming to get 5,000 native plants in the ground. Spades, gloves and refreshments will be provided.  
  
This event is delivered by Porirua City Council with support from Greater Wellington, Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira and Ngahere Korowai Collective.

You will need to bring: 

  • Gumboots or sturdy closed-toe shoes 
  • Warm and waterproof clothing 
  • Sun hat and sunscreen 
  • Reusable water bottle.
