Waikanae River Walk 2020
Greater Wellington Regional Council is touched by the response from the community to the 2020 annual Waikanae River walk on Wednesday 7 October 2020. Due to ongoing restrictions and uncertainty arising from COVID-19, our annual public river walkover for the Otaki River for 2020 has, unfortunately, had to be cancelled. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We hope to see you next year. Stay safe.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation, please note that we will only be going ahead with the event if we are at Level 1.
Therefore, we may need to cancel the event at short notice if the alert level is higher. Thanks for your understanding.

We will be starting the day at Edgewater Park, off Fleetwood Grove, and will be walking downstream towards the estuary.
We will be starting at 09.00 am sharp, so please ensure you arrive slightly beforehand. A light lunch will be provided enroute at midday, as well as some morning tea.
We expect to finish the walk no later than 3pm at the Otaihanga Boating Club. We will have a bus available to take people back to their cars at Edgewater Park.
