Wellington City Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council would like to host a hui with our Māori community to have a kōrero and whakawhiti whakaaro about the future of our region. This hui will be expo style with a range of kaupapa for discussion.

We would like to hear from our Māori community on what your aspirations are for the city and greater Wellington region. This will help us shape the important kaupapa our Councils are working on and how we will deliver them.

Here are some of the kaupapa we would like to discuss:

  • Aspirations for the city – What would you like to see happen in the city?
  • Potential for a Māori Ward in Wellington. What are your thoughts? How does this impact you?
  • Long-term Plan - An opportunity for you to give input on what has been suggested for the next 10 years.
  • Aho Tini 2030 – Art, Culture and Creativity Strategy and a Strategy for Children and Young People – an opportunity to have your voice heard.
  • Responding to the climate emergency
  • Improving outcomes for mana whenua and mātāwaka Māori
  • Adapting and responding to the impacts of Covid 19
  • Aligning with Government direction
