Explore ancient forests and waterways on a guided walk in Wainuiomata Regional Park

Join us for a special guided walk through beautiful native forest in  Wainuiomata Regional Park, exploring areas not usually open to the public. Led by our knowledgeable park ranger, you’ll learn about the Wainuiomata water collection area and how this pristine water makes its way to Wellington’s taps.

This is one of our most popular summer events, and places are limited to just 40 participants. If you’ve attended before, please consider letting someone else experience this unique opportunity.

The walk will follow the Orongorongo Pipeline Tunnel and visit the historic Morton Dam—one of New Zealand’s largest concrete dams and a remarkable example of early engineering innovation.
