Join us for a day of planting!

A volunteer at a planting day carrying a tray of seedlingsSpend the day giving back to nature at our Queen Elizabeth Park community planting day. Join us to help restore this special environment by planting native species alongside our park rangers and fellow volunteers.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, and make a real difference for the park’s plants and animals. We’ll keep everyone fuelled with hot drinks and a sausage sizzle to finish the day.

What to bring/wear:

  • Sturdy boots or gumboots
  • Long sleeves and pants, and a waterproof jacket are essential. Layering and wearing a hat or beanie is a good way to stay warm.
  • Planting equipment is provided but feel free to bring your own favourite spade and gloves
  • Bring your own water bottle and snacks.

What we provide:

  • Sausage sizzle
  • Hot drinks
  • Planting equipment and gloves
  • An experienced team leader
  • Shuttle transport from parking area to planting site (runs approx. every 30 minutes)
  • A portaloo toilet located at the planting site

Meeting location/parking area: Ramaroa Centre, Queen Elizabeth Park

Getting there:
Take the Mackays Crossing exit off SH1 and follow signage to the main entrance to Queen Elizabeth Park. Once in the park, follow signage to car parking on the left behind the Ramaroa Centre. A shuttle bus will then transport you to the planting site running approximately every 30 minutes throughout the day to get you to and from your vehicle.
