Whitireia Park Board LogoWhitireia Park Board manages Whitireia Park. 

The Board is responsible for the control and management of the park in accordance with the Reserves Act 1977 and the Whitireia Park Management Plan and Whitireia Park Bylaws 2016. It includes representatives from:

  • Te Rūnunga o Toa Rangatira Incorporated - the administrative part of the Ngāti Toa Rangatira.
  • Greater Wellington Regional Council

Ngāti Toa Rangatira owns land in the park. The current Park Board is formed under the Ngāti Toa Rangatira Claims Settlement Act 2014.

Greater Wellington provides administrative services to the Park Board and Greater Wellington park rangers keep up maintenance, implement work programmes and carry out any enforcement matters in the park. The park ranger is the first point of contact for any day-to-day activities in Whitireia Park.

Meetings

The Park Board meets quarterly at Puna Ora meeting room, Takapuwahia Marae, 23 Ngatitoa Street, Porirua. These meetings are open to the public and there is an opportunity to have your say at the start of the meeting.

The meeting agenda will be available two working days before the meeting on the event page in our calendar or from Greater Wellington Regional Council, 100 Cuba St, Te Aro, Wellington.
