This report describes the Kāpiti hydrogeological model build process and inputs. This model is used to help understand the pressures of different future scenarios on groundwater and connected surface water. The scenarios tested by this model include: time horizons (2040, 2080,2120), climate change RCPs (2.6, 4.5, 8.5), and water demand conditions (no abstraction, current abstraction, maximum abstraction).

This technical report was summarised in the Summary of the Kāpiti Whaitua Hydrogeological Modelling Inputs Report.

Note: Greater Wellington undertook this work as part of information gathering leading up to the Whaitua Kāpiti process. This is only part of the information base that the Whaitua Kāpiti Committee may have drawn from and is not considered to be definitive. The Whaitua Kāpiti Implementation Programme was completed in September 2024, for more information see https://www.gw.govt.nz/environment/freshwater/protecting-the-waters-of-your-area/whaitua-kapiti/#committee
