Frequently asked questions

We have a simple submission form: First, register your application through our online portal. Then, complete your personal details and screening form. Finally, submit your application. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. If you wish to apply for multiple roles, simply repeat the process for each position. 

We appreciate the interest in working at our organisation and effort to share your CV and cover letter. However, in line with our privacy and recruitment policies, we are unable to retain CVs or personal information unless they are submitted as part of an application for a specific position. We encourage you to regularly check our careers page and apply directly for any roles that match your skills and interests. 

Absolutely! You’re welcome to apply for as many vacancies as you’d like – there’s no restriction on the number. 

Certainly! You have the option to upload a fresh CV with every application, allowing you to customise it specifically for each role you are applying for. 

Normally it will take four to six weeks depending on the number of applicants. We’ll let you know if there any delays beyond this timeframe. 

Yes, you can apply for a job if you live overseas as long as you have the legal right to work in New Zealand. Please visit Employment New Zealand or Immigration New Zealand to check your employment rights.  

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept late applications.  

You are welcome to email us at Employment@gw.govt.nz to follow up your application or request individual feedback. 

Ideally, feedback will be provided within a week of your interview. The hiring manager will give you a brief explanation as to the reasons that you were unsuccessful. 

Your referees can be your current or recent manager (strongly recommended), direct reports, peers or professional partners.
