Greater Wellington Regional Council is responsible for ensuring the delivery of a safe, fair, reliable and environmentally friendly transport system in the region at least cost to the regional ratepayer.
We plan and monitor the region's transport network, fund Metlink public transport services, provide Metlink information, build public transport infrastructure, encourage greater use of carpooling, cycling and walking, and promote reduced vehicle emissions.
