Elections

One of the most important ways you can take part in the decisions that shape the Wellington region is to get involved in the 2010 local authority elections, either by voting for the people who will make those decisions, or by standing for election as a representative on the Wellington Regional Council (Greater Wellington) yourself.
Local authority elections are held on the second Saturday in October every three years and were last held on Saturday 9 October 2010 by postal vote using the First Past the Post electoral system (FPP).
- Representation Review
-
Under the Local Electoral Act 2001, all local authorities have to review their representation arrangements at least once every six years. This process is called the Representation Review.
