Baring Head Open Day
Please note that our buses are now fully booked.
Did you know East Harbour Regional Park continues further around the coast past Eastbourne? We want to help get you get out to explore one of our most remote parts of our regional parks – by showing off Baring Head/Ōrua-pouanui at Baring Head Open Day.
Want to join us but don’t have a way out there? We’ll be putting on a bus to take you along the road from Wainuiomata Library to Baring Head which is home to a beautiful lighthouse and lighthouse keeper cottages.
We want to celebrate the amazing people who volunteer and work in this space so come along to hear all their stories about this amazing landscape.
We’ll provide you with a map and then you can explore to your hearts content. We will also have 4WD shuttles for the steeper bits of the journey, meaning anyone can get involved!
To ensure you have a seat on the bus, get in quick and reserve your tickets now! We’ve got three buses so pick the time that works best for you. Please note that the bus is only stopping at Baring Head and the Wainuiomata Library.
