Phase Design
Activity Erosion protection
Overview

Greater Wellington has identified a 950-metre-long section of the Ruamāhanga River where erosion could put the former Masterton Landfill and homes upstream at risk.

A revetment (sloping bank of rock) and rock groynes (walls built out from a riverbank into a river) will be built to protect against erosion in this area.
