Greater Wellington carries out coastal monitoring at a range of beach, estuary, harbour and rocky shore sites throughout the region. Monitoring has typically focussed on the impact and accumulation of urban stormwater contaminants and sediment in estuaries and harbours, as these are our most vulnerable depositional environments. Representative beach and rocky shore habitats are surveyed periodically with results available in previous years. Use the monitoring year links in the top navigation bar to see reports for each year.
