The Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA) supports economic performance across the region to enhance prosperity, vibrancy and liveability for the 505,000 people who live and work here.

We market Wellington as a destination for visitors, migrants and investors; help businesses grow and innovate; advocate for Wellington’s economy and attract and promote major events and run civic venues.

We’re not shy in our vision for Wellington; we’re aiming that by 2025, this will be the most prosperous, liveable and vibrant region in Australasia.

The WREDA teams work across Business Growth & Innovation, Destination & Marketing, Events & Partnerships, Venues & Projects, and Foresight & Development.

Our programmes, projects and initiatives are designed to act as catalysts, helping Wellington to unlock more of its economic potential.
