Water restrictions

Greater Wellington is encouraging water take consent holders to check the conditions of their consent so that they are aware what they need to do to be compliant.

In this section water take consent holders can find:

  • The restrictions that apply to most water take consents in each catchment.
  • Any specific restrictions applying to their consent
  • Real time water flows and levels of the monitoring site relating to their consent – see this page to check for current water restrictions

Water restrictions status as at 2pm on Monday 18 March 2013.

Overnight rain in the Tararua Ranges will mean that many rivers are likely to rise about water restriction levels temporarily. Water take consent holders are encouraged to closely monitor river flows to see when they can recommence taking water. It is likely that water restrictions will be enforce again within the next couple of days. Further status updates will follow.
