The land-use patterns and environment of the Upper Ruamahanga River floodplain are now well-established. The aim of these floodplain management reports is to allow for improvements in the quality and security of this environment.

They contain information about the river and the floodplain, the risk of flooding, and what has been done to minimise its impact. They also set out how the river will be managed in the future.
