Greater Wellington's sustainable business programmes have been running since 2006. Businesses involved reported benefits including:
- Increase in profits from improving efficiencies, reducing waste and increasing client base due to demonstrated environmental credentials
- Brand building, positive marketing and publicity. Also businesses involved in our programmes have won a number of environmental/sustainability awards
- Increase in staff morale. Participating in programmes like EnviroSmart and eMission shows staff that environmental sustainability is important to the organisation.
Below are some case studies of local businesses that have participated in our sustainable business programmes:-
Wellington City New World - a central Wellington supermarket that has specialist production areas like Bakery, Butchery, Deli and Sushi. It also has an in-store Cafe, Produce, Liquor, Grocery, Cold Shelf and Freezer Departments.
Porirua Autocrash - a collision repairer for the majority of insurance companies and private individuals, which can be repair of rust work for warrant of fitness purposes. They also do some work for organisations and companies that manage fleet vehicles.
Logan Brown - is a restaurant and bar that has been open for 14 years serving high-end food and beverages, with comfort and style in a beautifully restored historical banking chamber.
HotChilly - is a major player in the air-conditioning and mechanical services industry. Projects in the commercial sector comprise the work, incorporating contracting, manufacturing, and also service and maintenance. Hotchilly is also a leader in the residential market.
Squiz - is the NZ branch of a multi-national I.T. software company that develops, implements and trains clients on the use of their open source, enterprise level Content Managment system.
Capiche - is a brand communications agency that specialises in the development of strategic marketing and design solutions.
Booker~Spalding - a manufacturer specialising in the supply of corporate uniforms. Located in the Hutt Valley.
BRANZ - an independent and impartial research, testing, consulting and information company providing services and resources for the building industry. Located in Porirua.
Formway Furniture - is a designer of high performance office seating and furniture. They manufacture and market products directly throughout New Zealand and Australia as well as licensing products globally. Located in Wellington city and in the Hutt Valley.
Lithoprint - is an offset and digital printer based in Wellington city.
Label & Litho - major supplier of self-adhesive labeling to the New Zealand market - with particular emphasis on quality food, wine and beverage labeling. They are based in the Hutt Valley.
Neale Printers - is a small commercial offset printer situated in Wellington city.
Thames Publications - is a commercial printer based in Wellington city.
