Summer Sampler - Kaitoke Regional Park

Bring: Always take a backpack with a waterproof jacket, warm clothes, tramping boots or strong lace-up shoes, water and a picnic lunch/snacks. Always take a sun hat and sunblock.

Description

Starting in famous Rivendell, this is an easy guided walk exploring some of the park's natural and engineering marvels.  Suitable for the whole family.  Be in to win a spot prize from Dwights Outdoors.

No bookings required, just turn up.

Track details: 
The route which we will be walking on the sealed Swingbridge walk for the start going onto the Terrace walk which is marked as being an accessible track.  From here we continue back onto the Swingbride walk to the Strainer House.  There is a short downhill section to the Strainer House which will require assistance to go back up.  At the Strainer House we will be turning around to head back via Rivendell and the carpark.

How to get there

Follow SH2 and turn off at Waterworks Rd 12km north of Upper Hutt. Meet at Pakuratahi Forks carpark.
