Where can you find the group?
The escarpment
The escarpment
The project area lies between Pukerua Bay and Paekakariki, where State Highway One and the Main Trunk Railway are forced close to the seashore. A steep escarpment is formed where one of the ridges closes off the southern end of the Kapiti Coast plains. Follow the link to check out an aerial photo of the area.

Nga Uruora Kapiti is restoring over 100 hectares of coastal escarpment replanting it with native coastal forest vegetation. By restoring the escarpment to native forest, the group hopes a pathway will be provided to support birdlife migrating from Kapiti along the coast to other habitats.

Contact the Greater Wellington care group faciltator on 04 384 5708 or 0800 496 734.
