Spotlight on Hutt Valley public transport
More than 2000 people have taken part in a recent survey about Hutt Valley bus and train services as part of a review aimed at improving public transport services and increasing usage.
The feedback has provided very useful information about how people feel about their bus and rail services and highlights some aspects that need further investigation. The next step is to analyse how many passengers use each service and where they’re beginning and ending their journeys to help identify the services and routes that are most popular and those that are least used.
The review is planned to be completed, and recommendations about improving public transport in the Hutt Valley made, by the end of the year. Any changes are likely to take effect when the new contracts for public transport services come into force over the next few years.
GWRC will, however, look at opportunities for improvements earlier where possible.
