About our channels

Greater Wellington's social media accounts are managed by the Communications team.

Twitter

Content

 If you follow us, you can expect tweets covering some of the following:

  • civil defence alerts
  • competitions
  • customer service reminders
  • invitations to have your say
  • news and events
  • updated digital content
  • job vacancies

Following
If you follow us on Twitter we will not automatically follow you back. If we do follow you back, this does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Availability
We will update and monitor our Twitter account during office hours, Monday to Friday.

@replies and direct messages
We welcome any feedback and will participate where possible. However we are not always able to reply individually to all messages.

We won't usually comment on political issues or get involved in debates.

The purpose of our Facebook page

We use our Facebook page for:

  • sharing Greater Wellington's latest news and events information
  • getting informal community feedback on our activities
  • building a community of people who care about the region

From time to time we will upload videos to our YouTube channel about our activities.
