Battle Hill Farm Forest Park is a working farm, not a display farm. With its wide range of habitat and environments, children and adults have the opportunity to learn with hands on experience.
Education visits of up to two hours are free, with a charge of $30 per hour after the first two hours. We can accommodate up to 100 students at a time and larger groups can be rotated.
Facilities include:
- the Ken Gray Education Centre. Based inside the large working woolshed, it includes a mezzanine viewing floor serving as both a classroom with whiteboard and a viewing area over the shearing stands. The wheelchair access ramp also provides excellent viewing over the sheep yards.
- wheelchair accessible toilets
- indoor eating area
- drinking water
-
camping in flat sheltered spots with full vehicle access; and toilets and drinking water close by
- concrete barbecue pads suitable for camp fires (subject to fire bans). A picnic or barbecue in the sheltered camp ground is a popular finale to school visits.
