Plant a totara as a gift
Plant a totara as a gift

The totara is a symbol of strength and goodness, with its own wairua or spiritual life force.

Plant a totara in the Celebrate Life Totara Grove and create a legacy to last hundreds of years.

You may wish to celebrate:

  • your marriage, a wedding or anniversary
  • a family reunion
  • a passing of life or a new birth
  • or a significant achievement such as quitting smoking or completing a marathon.

How much does it cost?

The $30 cost includes a totara sapling, certificate and maintenance of the tree. You may plant the tree yourself or the park ranger can plant it for you.

Where is it?

The Celebrate Life Totara Grove is situated near Kaitoke Regional Park's Te Marua just off SH2, 5km north of Upper Hutt.

The park experiences very good rainfall so totara can be planted from March until November. We will accept requests to plant Celebrate Life Totara at any time.

If you would like to order a Celebrate Life Totara, please download and complete the order form and return it to us as indicated.

Please note we have a policy not to allow the burial of people, placenta or the spreading of ashes within regional parks.
