Seasonal climate and water resource summaries
Greater Wellington Regional Council measures rainfall, river flows, groundwater levels, temperature, and soil moisture at many locations around the Wellington Region.
To provide a summary of climate and water resources for each season the Environmental Science Department analyses the latest information from a combination of council, NIWA and MetService monitoring sites.
To make sure the reports are available as soon as possible the most current data are used. Some amendments may be made once quality checking procedures have taken place.
Greater Wellington Regional Council releases climate briefings to provide additional information about unusual or extreme climatic conditions that may be occurring or are predicted in our region.
