The Wellington Region’s School Travel Plan Programme is a joint partnership between schools, local councils and Greater Wellington that supports school communities in developing and implementing action plans to promote active, safe and sustainable travel. 

Benefits

A School Travel Plan can help improve children’s health and well-being; improve children’s road and personal safety skills; support children to develop confidence and independence; reduce traffic congestion; reduce air pollution and enhance local communities.

Support

A School Travel Plan Coordinator is available to help you develop you travel plan. Schools involved in the School Travel Plan process can apply for funding grants for teacher release time and travel plan projects.
