Proposed RLTS 2010 - 2040

Submissions closed at 5pm, Friday 23 April 2010.

Public submissions are now invited on the proposed Regional Land Transport Strategy 2010 – 2040.

This review allows the Wellington Regional Transport Committee to take account of several changes that have occurred since the current strategy was adopted in 2007.

The proposed strategy contains revised 2020 outcome targets which set out the region’s expectations for progress. A background technical document has been developed to ensure a consistent approach was taken in the setting of the new targets.

A strategic options assessment was also undertaken to establish a preferred approach for investment in the regional land transport network. It is important to note that this preferred strategic option is not a list of projects to be completed by 2040, but rather a test for the direction set by Regional Land Transport Strategy policies.

This, and other background work done in the development of the proposed Regional Land Transport Strategy, is available on the right hand side of this page.
