Picnics and barbecues

You are welcome to picnic anywhere in the regional parks and forests. Feel free to bring your portable gas BBQ or camp-stove. No rubbish bins are provided, so please take your rubbish home and recycle where possible.

Light no fires, except with the permission of the park ranger.

Free electric BBQs are available in the Kaitoke Regional Park campsite.

 

Reserve a picnic site

For a small fee, groups can pre-book sites aBattle Hill Farm Forest ParkKaitoke Regional Park or Queen Elizabeth ParkPlease contact the park ranger at least two weeks prior to your intended visit. The ranger will issue you a permit and allocate a picnic site.

Costs for pre-booking picnic sites are: $20 per site minimum for up to 20 people then $1 per person for groups of more than 20.

If you are getting a commercial marquee set up for your picnic/activities then there is a $500 fee to have it onsite.
