Immerse yourself in our pristine lowland native forest, one of the most significant lowland podocarp forests in the lower North Island and an area rich in bird and plant species.

When: Sunday, 16th November 2014, starting at 9:00am (around 22 days away)
Duration: 4 Hours Approximately
Where: 10 Whitcher Grove, Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt
Price/Cost: Free - But Bookings Essential
Bring: Backpack, rain jacket, extra warm clothing, sun hat, sun block, something waterproof to sit on at the lunch stop and any personal medication. Wear tramping boots for small stream crossings. Carry enough personal food and drink for the day's walk.

Getting there:

Follow the main road through Wainuiomata and turn left at the roundabout into Moores Valley Road.  Take the first turn into Whitcher Grove and follow this to the Recreation Area on Reservoir Road.  We will provide you with safe parking onsite.  The ranger will show you where to park on your arrival
