Local care groups

Greater Wellington works in partnership with community groups so that we can all:

  • Solve local environmental problems in the ways local people want
  • Encourage others in the community to work with us
  • Do some practical work in the environment with as little red tape or fuss as possible.

Our main aim is to make it fun and easy for people to look after their local stream, wetland or beach.

Greater Wellington has a partnership with over thirty community environmental groups. Explore this website to learn about the group nearest you! Find out what the groups do, and some background on each project. We have even included links to some of the groups websites.
