How to get there

Parangarahu Lakes Area: Burdans Gate, at the end of Muritai Rd, Eastbourne. Vehicles are not permitted south of Burdan's Gate. You can rent bikes from Burdans Gate Bike Shed at the end of Muritai Road.

There is no public road to the Baring Head Lighthouse Reserve. If you wish to visit you will need to ask the neighbouring landowners for permission. Contact the park ranger for landowner details.

Eastbourne: Korohiwa Rd (Bus Barn), Kowhai Street, Muritai Road and MacKenzie Road
Days Bay: Williams Park, Ferry Road
York Bay: Kaitawa Road
Lowry Bay: Cheviot Road, Dillon St
Pt Howard: Howard Road, Ngaumatau Road
Wainuiomata Hill Rd near the lookout. You need to approach the carpark via Wainuiomata
Wainuiomata: Lees Grove, Fraser Street, Gardiner Grove and Stanley Street

If travelling by private vehicle: Some of these streets are narrow, with restricted parking. Please consider local residents and do not block entranceways.

By public transport

Eastbourne: Take a No 81 or 83 bus along Marine Parade and Muritai Road (Mon-Sun), or Nos 82, 84 and 85 (Mon-Fri). The Dominion Post ferry runs between Queens Wharf and Days Bay (Mon-Sun).

Wainuiomata: Take bus No 170 from Waterloo Interchange (Mon-Sun). Park entrances are near Main Rd, Wainuiomata.
