Porirua Harbour is located 21km north of Wellington city. The harbour was originally named Parirua which translates to "twin flowings of the tide".

Beacon Hill Signal Stations sits above Breaker Bay overlooking Wellington Harbour entrance, see the photos taken from the station. Some webcam images are obscured by construction of the new signal station.
