Get out and explore Queen Elizabeth Park
Now is the perfect time to get out and explore our regional parks. One of the best is Queen Elizabeth Regional Park.
With its 650 hectares of easily traversed terrain edged by a sandy beach, Queen Elizabeth Park has plenty of space to enjoy fishing from the beach, walking, cycling, horse riding, picnics or swimming under the watch of Paekakariki Surf Club to keep you safe. You can even go camping at Paekakariki Holiday Park, which is at the southern end of the park.
The last area of natural dunes on Kapiti’s coastline, Queen Elizabeth Park is steeped in history including pa sites at Whareroa and Wainui beaches and evidence of the 20,000 strong US marine camps from World War II.
