Get involved

Planting trees, restoring a stream, cleaning up a beach or participating in a regional outdoors recreation event are great ways that you can make a difference and enjoy the environment of the region.
Care groups, supported by Greater Wellington, are working throughout the region to restore rivers and streams, wetlands and lakes, estuaries, dunes and coastal cliffs. The environment belongs to all of us. Getting involved with an environmental project helps to make sure we all have a better place to live. It can also mean new friends, new skills and most importantly fun. Click here to learn more about Greater Wellington care groups.
We can also arrange for your workforce to get involved in activities, such as tree planting in regional parks. Take a break from your desk, do some team-building and help out the environment at the same time. Or you can send an email to bethedifference@gw.govt.nz.
