Fun for mums and buggies for bubbies at Otaihanga Domain
More than a hundred parents and babies gathered at Otaihanga Domain on the Kapiti Coast to take part in a buggy walk along the picturesque river side walkway earlier this month.
Organised by Sport Wellington and Greater Wellington Regional Council, buggy walks are an opportunity for parents to enjoy the region’s parks and meet other parents.
“It’s a great opportunity to get out of the house and mix with fellow parents,” says GWRC events advisor Catherine Wylde. “Sometimes mums at home can feel a bit isolated and this gets them out in a social situation, and gets the legs moving too. We make time for a hot drink and a chat afterwards so it’s a fun morning out.”
The buggy walks are held the first Thursday of every month in different parks around the region.
