Bring: Always take a backpack with a waterproof jacket, warm clothes, good walking shoes, water and a picnic lunch/snacks.

Description

Hear the spectacular birdsong of the Water Collection Area.  Learn about New Zealand's unique forest and wildlife communities.  How introduced animals harm them and what is being done to control those pests. The walk involves a few wet foot crossings.  

Max 30 people.  Entry by application.

How to get there

Heading south down Wainuiomata Coast Rd, turn left onto Moores Valley Road, right into Whitcher Grove, go straight ahead to Reservoir Rd and the main gates to meet the park ranger.
