Do you have a passion for groundwater science?
Are you an experienced hydrogeologist?
We’re looking for a motivated groundwater scientist to join our multi-disciplinary science team working on a wide range of fresh water and other environmental issues. In this role, together with our groundwater quality scientist, you will oversee the design, implementation and reporting of groundwater monitoring and investigations for the entire Wellington region.
You will also provide quality technical input into the assessment of resource consent applications and the development of groundwater allocation policies.
We need you to have:
- A technical grounding in the concepts and application of groundwater hydrology (ideally with a good understanding of modelling)
- managing groundwater monitoring and investigation programmes and giving advice on water allocation
- Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between science and environmental policy
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent work experience
We are looking to place a Senior Environmental Scientist but would consider an Environmental Scientist if they showed strength in the above attributes.
