Environmental Scientist Groundwater

Do you have an enthusiasm for understanding and modelling groundwater?
We are looking for a motivated and experienced environmental scientist to oversee our groundwater quantity monitoring and investigations programme. You will have a key role in managing Greater Wellington’s groundwater resource by providing a scientific perspective to policy makers, regulators, users and the public. Along with a comprehensive monitoring programme we have ongoing studies to support our water allocation policy. Currently we are undertaking a regional scale investigation of the Wairarapa groundwater resource.
- Your attributes will include
- A tertiary qualification in groundwater science
- Ideally some experience in groundwater modelling.
- The ability to translate scientific knowledge into water management policy and regulation.
- The ability to work within a team but also able to work without supervision.
- A high level of personal motivation, initiative and self-organisation.
You will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists and be based at our Wellington office, with regular visits to our Masterton office.
