eMission

Reduce your carbon footprint, gain environmental accreditation and boost profits

Subsidised by leading Government agencies and facilitated by highly experienced advisors, eMission is a one-year programme which helps businesses reduce their carbon footprint and achieve nationally-recognised environmental accreditation (EnviroMark NZ levels bronze, silver and gold).

eMission is sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority. It is supported by Greater Wellington Regional Council, Hutt City Council, Porirua City Council and Wellington City Council.

Ten reasons to join eMission

  • Support - Access to a business sustainability advisor, workshops and resources
  • Cost savings through using resources more efficiently. Businesses will receive energy, transport and waste audits and guidance on reducing their carbon footprint in these areas
  • EnviroMarkNZ accreditation (workshops and third-party audits for three levels - bronze, silver and gold) - an easy to follow, staged approach to environmental accreditation
  • Marketing advantage and reputation - by having a point of difference from their competitors and the opportunity to win recognition through Greater Wellington Environmental Awards
  • Improved systems - through increasing staff awareness and participation
  • Partnership and networking with other businesses
  • Legal compliance - getting support that covers health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Risk management - through ensuring businesses work towards environmental best practise and go above and beyond compliance
  • Staff morale - from working for an organisation that cares about the future
  • Economical - Government sponsorship has subsidised the programme by approximately half the amount
