Corporate Volunteer Programme
Dates
The Corporate Volunteer Programme runs from April to September each year. This is the busiest time of year for community groups working to restore threatened ecosystems in the Wellington region. It may be winter, be we often have great weather during these months, and there is a wider range of activities available for you to experience! To register your interest in carrying out volunteer activities in the 2008 season, please email caregroups@gw.govt.nz today.
Why Volunteer?
BP volunteers at Kakaho Stream
Helping with an environmental project:
- Improves employee morale
- Helps build team spirit
- Demonstrates good corporate citizenship
- Contributes to 'triple bottom line' reporting requirements
- Enhances your corporate image and reputation
What sorts of projects are available?
There are opportunities region wide to:
- Restore regionally threatened environmental sites
- Help community groups with their restoration projects
- Work in our regional parks
Many organisations have committed to work with us for one day every year. Your organisation can also work with a Take Care community group over a longer period. You can help us to restore sand dunes, wetlands, stream sides or estuaries. Please note that the corporate volunteer programme runs from April to September, and that planting days only take place over the winter months.
