The Group Emergency Management Office carries out emergency management and civil defence responsibilities for the Wellington region.

Our main functions are risk reduction, preparedness planning and co-ordinating response and recovery from emergencies. We provide education and information to the public on individual and community preparedness, and liaise with emergency management agencies and local councils.

Hours of operation

Office hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Staff are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for an emergency.
