New bus routes - A, R, R1, T, Tp
A branch of route (A) will provide the main service to Churton Park. This route will form part of the North-South Spine linking Johnsonville, Wellington, Newtown and Island Bay. This route will also provide the opportunity to travel to Wellington Hospital without changing buses.
The route will extend into the new growth area of Churton Park around Melksham Drive. The bus route is proposed to change from a loop route to a conventional 'there and back' service providing access in both directions to the Churton Park Village.
Proposed route (A) service levels to Churton Park are as follows:
Higher capacity double deck buses will be introduced at high demand times to provide greater passenger capacity and comfort.
Supplementary bus routes (R & R1) will serve area around Amesbury Drive and Furlong Crescent not covered by the main bus route (A). Route (R1) will travel to and from Wellington at peak times and (R) to Johnsonville hub at off-peak. Passengers on the route (R) travelling off-peak to Wellington will be able to make a free connection at Johnsonville with route (A).

Middleton Road will be served by Tawa service (T & Tp) and peak time route (R1) Amesbury Drive trips. See Glenside section for further details.
