Car-Free Day - 22 September
Climate change is a real problem, and the effects of climate change are being felt right now in countries in the Pacific such as Kiribati. Watch and find out how it's affecting Kiribati on the Unicef website. Your challenge is to take action for climate change by reducing the number of cars that come to school on Thursday, 22nd September. This day is also World Car Free Day. You never know this could take off, and last longer than one day, so good luck and register your school with Unicef now. Email Unicef your details, school name, contact person, approximate number of students taking part by 1st September, and they will send you a registration pack. Registration packs include stickers, flyers/posters to promote your day, teaching resources and a certificate of appreciation. Packs will be sent out in early September. Find out more information on how you can take part in our climate day challenge. Car-Free Day 2010 - Go Green & Be Seen! Last year we encouraged schools to wear bright green for Car-Free Day. Below are some of the ideas we gave schools. You might like to use one of these ideas in conjunction with the Climate Day Challenge.
