Wellington City bus

Buses are the most commonly used means of public transport in the Wellington region.

During 2008/09, for example, 23.4 million trips were made on buses, compared to about 12 million on rail and 180.000 harbour ferry trips.

Greater Wellington contracts a range of bus operators to provide services throughout the region.

We regularly monitor services and carry out service reviews, to better meet passengers' needs and to ensure ratepayers are getting value for money.
