The community came out in force last month to help Onehunga Bay Restoration Group plant 3,200 shrubs at Porirua’s Whitireia Park, following February’s devastating fire. Eighty people took part in the planting day, including members of the restoration group, 40 people from the Titahi Bay Community Church and other members of the public, as well as the Department of Conservation, Greater Wellington and Keep Porirua Beautiful staff. The restoration group will hold its next planting day on Sunday 27 June. Find out more:
