New bus route - K

Aro Street

The Aro Valley bus route will be extended from its current terminus at Holloway Road through to Highbury providing new coverage of Raroa Road. Combining the Aro Valley and Highbury bus routes allows later evening and weekend services to be introduced for both Highbury and Aro Valley.

Proposed service levels are as follows:

• Weekday peak – more regular service every 15-20 minutes (currently every 20 minutes)
  
  
• Weekday daytime – as now (every 30 minutes)
  
  
• Weekday evening – later service hourly until 10pm (currently last bus is 6:30pm)
  
  
• Saturday – new service every 30 minutes daytime and hourly evening
  
  
• Sunday – new service hourly

The new bus route (K) will also serve Thorndon, Kaiwharawhara and Khandallah providing direct access from Aro Valley to these areas.
