What is Active a2b?
Active a2b is a health and wellbeing programme run by Greater Wellington Regional Council and supporting health partners to encourage employees to walk or cycle to/from work. It doesn’t matter if you can’t walk or cycle the whole journey, there’s often a way to combine transport options so you can still reap the health benefits.
“Since joining the Active a2b it has encouraged me to walk the final 6 km over the Wainuiomata hill 2-4 times a week! On my first month of recording my kilometres I clocked up a total of 67 kilometres and saved $20 in bus fare!!”
Why walk or cycling your journey to work?
- You’ll get fitter.
- You’ll arrive at work energised and ready to face the day.
- It’s often faster than you think.
- Human-powered transport saves you money
