Watering restrictions
The following watering restrictions are in effect throughout the year, in the area served by Wellington City Council:
Unattended watering
- Year round restrictions on the use of sprinklers and garden hoses apply, to manage the demand for water
- Watering is permitted between 6am - 8am and 7pm - 9pm on alternate days. Properties with odd numbered street addresses can be watered on odd days of the month - those with even numbered street addresses on even days of the month
Watering by hand
- A hand held hose may be used at any time, provided that water is not being used wastefully
- A watering can may be used to water at any time
Variations
- Variations to Wellington City Council's watering restrictions may be introduced in times of drought, high demand and extreme circumstances. Variations will be notified through local media
